Veterans Day 2010

Currently American people are busy preparing for Veterans Day 2010. Veterans Day is holiday in United States to honor men and women who have devoted themselves to United States Armed Forces.

Veterans Day 2010 celebrations in United States coincided with the commemoration of Armistice Day or Remembrance Day, which is the anniversary of the end of World War I on November 11, 1918. But on June 1, 1954, Congress determined that "Armistice" was replaced with "Veterans", and it has been known as Veterans Day since.

In addition to the ceremony to honor veterans, American people and students usually prepare a lot of events to welcome Veterans Day. Each of them have their own way to honor the veterans.

There are some gropus who hold Veterans Day parade, there are students from several schools performing music, students reading and song, sell books and its profits for veterans and some other types of entertainment. In your country, how do people respect the veterans? Is your country has veterans day as such in America?
